People First®
Websites:
They are a strong regional and local
chapter in the San Diego Area (Region 13). Check out their website! They are
one of the chapters that have recently been trained in the PFCA
Self-Determination IPP Buddy System.
One of our local People First Chapters in the
greater Sacramento region (Region 3).
Other Self-Advocacy
Associations:
They are a national self-advocacy group
made up of statewide People First Chapter and Self-Advocacy group leadership
from around the nation.
They hosted the 2002 National Self-Advocacy Conference in Buffalo.
Advocacy Organizations:
The State Council has supported us with 4 grants
from 2001. They also have funded this
website for the last 5 years.
They've partnered with us to put on the People
First of California Statewide Conference in Sacramento in June of each year
since 1996.

An
online resource center focusing on healthy relationships, sexuality and
prevention of abuse for people with developmental disabilities.
A
grant funded by the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities
to support Best Practices in transition from school to career.
The grant, Project TEAMS (Transition, Employment,
Advocacy, Mentoring, Self-Determination), offers
training and support to high school students with developmental disabilities
ages 14-21, their parents, grandparents, caregivers, teachers and counselors.
